A bit of a detour

Wed Dec 4, 2013, 5:12 AM

Hey guys, apologies again for the interruption in posts. I was planning to finish off my sculpt projects sooner but I just recently transitioned to a new job, so my priorities had to shift a bit. Part of the new gig has the benefit of allowing me to work from home, so I felt I needed to make the place more conducive to work. That meant clearing out my room to make it a proper office, and part of that involved finally cleaning out the garage and setting up a new workbench there so I can store all of my electronics tools, art supplies, model kits and other, more distracting stuff there. So far so good. I feel like I can focus better in my room. To replace some of the clutter and bring in more Zen, I decided to take up an old hobby of mine as well. Check it out;

That's about it for now. Once things settle a bit more, I plan to get back to streaming and sculpting. =]

Dude, that's nice. Congrats on the new job employment. What are you doing now?

Also, like the whole minimalism/art of Zen bit. It's been something I've kinda been taking up on my end as well cleaning up my feeds and online webspace and so forth.

You by anychance also take up on that Bansai tree care, calligraphy or that sand raking bit?

I'm in a similar process, but bringing my office back into my bedroom; I miss having my bed in the same room.

Ah, that's interesting. I always thought it's best to separate the two whenever possible. Having the bed too close to the desk can be too distracting sometimes. I've been often tempted to go to sleep. XD

I've seen people with daybeds in their office, for a good lay down or short nap to refresh the mind.
And it has happened to me, feeling tired while on my computer and my bed so far away.

Bro! After changing that water today the medium-sized shrimp died... X_X;

The other two are still doing fine! But I think the water change was too much stress for the middle guy! lol

Great photos btw, loved how you took your time to make these. 8-)

Uh oh XD;. Yeah, the stress might be too high if you've been doing water changes too often. The wood decoration might be too much trouble. I read earlier that it takes a few weeks of waterlogging for it to be truly aquarium safe. Also there was a recommendation of boiling it for a while to reduce how cloudy the water gets.  I ended up taking mine out of my large Marimo vase and gave that a try. I'm guessing  the aquarium requires moving water and filtration for it to work properly. Also you should be doing 30% water changes if it's more than that, it will definitely stress out the fish.

I can see the wood is gathering a layer of muck already... lol

And the dead shrimp is still in there, not eaten yet... Probably done out of respect from the other two! O.O
