I didn't mention it here, but just before spring break, we took the
Technoguild site down for renovation. As expected, time got the better of us and we didn't get to accomplish all of what we planned.
Well, the wait is over. The
Technoguild is back online and with it comes a new look and a bunch of new features. For those of you interested in the specifics of what was updated, please feel free to see this post on the mainsite:
[link]Now I'm certain that many of you are curious about what the heck this website is about. What is the Technoguild? What's the community all about? Allow me to present you a brief FAQ to give you all a better idea. Perhaps it may get more of you interested in checking us out. =]

What is the Technoguild Global Database site about? The Technoguild site is meant to be a small workshop community where members could exchange and share ideas, skills, concepts, thoughts, and musings on any subject they find interesting. This collaborative environment helps members improve in skills they wish to improve in, such as drawing, writing and character/concept development so that they can effectively develop original work of their own.
The Guild as a community serves sortof as a 'think tank', investigating and breaking down universal concepts like what makes up a likable and original character, what makes things believable and relatable, etc and supply its members with exclusive tools such as tutorials, templates and guides to help them in their pursuits.
Most importantly, the guild provides a supportive and friendly community to do all of this in. Whether you want to become a better artist, writer, designer or if you simply want to expand your horizons and indulge in some intellectual dialog, the Technoguild is the place for you.
Why is it called Technoguild? Do you guys only do sci-fi? The Guild welcomes all genres whether it be Anime or American comics or Fantasy or Sci-fi. The reason why the name 'Technoguild' was chosen is because it echos the approach we use to see these subjects.
Technology in the broadest sense is the ability to understand and adapt something so that you may use it to your advantage.
So just like developing any technology, we aim to take an in depth look into that which we discuss so that we can really understand what makes it tick and then put it to use in our own original creations.
What is the community like? How is it different from other forum communities? What makes this community so unique is the kind of environment it provides. Like a real guild, the Technoguild holds a strong, yet often unspoken code of conduct amongst its members. A high level of maturity and respect is expected of each member, and as a result, the guild lacks the many 'n00b' elements that most forums are plagued with.
Likewise, this environment is extremely conducive to learning and investigating. We are able to effectively plan projects, provide meaningful feedback to each member and tackle extremely deep and intellectually challenging subjects. You simply have to browse through the forums to see the depth of what we talk about..
As an example of what we do, you may look at the
Concept Mobius project or the
Technoguild site itself. Both use new and experimental code.
What is this Technoguild theme/concept? They say that one effective way to come up with great concepts is to somehow engage in the concept itself. The theme of the Guild is there to help facilitate that. We've developed a concept that is able to blend with almost any genre, ground it in a realistic basis using science (regardless of time. ie Magic can be seen as an ancient kind of science in the sense that it can be broken down and understood at fundamental levels), and then let it serve as the background in which we develop many of our concepts. It allows us to both isolate and join storyline through a decently sensible means.
This is the reason why the Guild titles, history, mannerisms and etc. are in place. Members have a chance to engage in a universal concept while developing their own within it.
How do I join the Technoguild? In order to keep our community strong and closely connected, we are planning to have joining procedures resemble those of a real guild or secret society.
In order for one to become a member of the TechnoGuild, one must be offered to join by a current member.
However at this time, we are
inviting all who are interested to join so that we can build up a sizable member base before we start the aforementioned member plan.
Of course, along with this, we have finally finished the long awaited merge with Concept: Mobius. It's been fully revamped and is now ready to display the many new articles the staff have been working on over the passed year!
So yeah, if you are interested, please feel free to head over and explore. You'll find that the layout and artwork are from many artists here, such as

,

,

and myself. Theres a couple more who shall be contributing in the near future. =]

Many thanks for everyone's interest and patience. I certainly hope that it was worth the wait. If you have any questions, please feel free to shoot a comment!
I hope you enjoy the site as much as we did revamp it. Enjoy! ^^ *bows*

Furry and awesome, they can be beasts or rarely, as anthro. Funny and active series called Cursed Tails! [link]
Also, in regards of Concept: Mobius, are you going to be leaving the commentary that was originally done by Nuclear Envoy on the pages or changing it to a more neutral viewpoint? Admittedly, I don't mind the commentary (that much), but the informal and sometimes (what could be considered) offensive terms being used in what one would expect to be an article with the main focus to be to inform and educate, could possibly turn some people off. Either way, it's the Guild's decision. :3

Andy: Spider-Chick! Spider-Chick! Does whatever a Spider-Chick does!

Ed: Man, these kids, they see homoerotic subcontext in anything! Maybe I should stop carrying you?
Les: There's a big difference between carrying a guy
cause you're gay for him and carrying a guy cause he don't feel like WALKING.
