And now for something slightly different. This is one of my recently developed characters for my Technoguild storyline. Not much is decided on him aside from his conceptual purpose, which is to help normalize the feel of the story's background and demonstrate that:
1) not all characters in the story are anthropomorphic
2) not all central characters are young
3) not all characters need to have a 'superpower' or special ability
Such a character would help make the story more unique in those particular areas, and separate it from typical gnere expectations, I thought. =]
Story wise, Delrin is supposed to serve sortof as the wise guru and quirky/enthusiastic old man in which a lot of interesting dialogue can start. XD
I can see him holding a high position in the guild, perhaps as an arbiter who sends bewildered guild members on esoteric assignments which initially seem like wild goose chases but end up being well thought out and planned in the end. =B
"Wait, back up. Let me get this straight... You want me to travel half way across the continent, visit three foreign countries and risk getting my head blown off by border police... just to buy a pizza for you?
I'll be sure to update you guys as I solidify his standing. For now, I'd like to hear your thoughts on his look. He is supposed to appear as what one could conceive as a mix of old and new eras. I was going sort of for a 'wizard/modern scientist polished over with a late 18 century nuance' XD I think I'm satisfied with his hair and choice of spectacles but I still have yet to decide on a proper attire.
